Summer 2010 Newsletter Dear Readers, Hope everyone had a wonderful 4th of July. I have my grandson for a month, and we caught the movie matinee of Eclipse the third movie of the Twilight Saga . We all loved it and can't wait until the next movie comes out. The new Harry Potter and The Deathly Hollows trailer was shown during the previews--definitely a more grown-up movie. After the movie, we came home cooked hamburgers on the grill. After buying milk shakes at Cookout , we drove onto the Blue Ridge Parkway to watch the fireworks. A good time was had by all. As for college, I now have a diploma in Medical Office Administration to add to the Office Systems Technology degree from last year. I started my first full semester of Web Technologies, taking only two classes since it's a short semester: Security Concepts and Introduction to Programming Logic (basic PHP programming). I think I love programming, and have decided to go all the way with Web Technologies, but I hope to finish...

Spring 2010 Newsletter

Dear Readers, Sorry, I'm a little late posting this. I will also post the update in a few minutes, Summer 2010 Newsletter . I'm still in college, one more class to go to complete Medical Office and many for a Web Technologies degree. However, two more classes to get a Web Design certificate. I'm leaning toward the Web Design certicate, and then just take a few classes here and there until I can complete the Web Technologies Assosicate's Degree Program. On the work front, I'm no longer day-job hunting. As luck has it, I was able to obtain a position as MIS (Management Information Systems) Specialist position with WDB (Workforce Development office) where I was the Assistant Coordinator during the 2009 Summer Youth Employment. The person in the MIS position before me retired January 1, 2010 and I officially started the position at that time, but I began training for it in September 2009.
