Summer 2010 Newsletter
Dear Readers,

Hope everyone had a wonderful 4th of July. I have my grandson for a month, and we caught the movie matinee of Eclipse the third movie of the Twilight Saga. We all loved it and can't wait until the next movie comes out. The new Harry Potter and The Deathly Hollows trailer was shown during the previews--definitely a more grown-up movie. After the movie, we came home cooked hamburgers on the grill. After buying milk shakes at Cookout, we drove onto the Blue Ridge Parkway to watch the fireworks. A good time was had by all.

As for college, I now have a diploma in Medical Office Administration to add to the Office Systems Technology degree from last year. I started my first full semester of Web Technologies, taking only two classes since it's a short semester: Security Concepts and Introduction to Programming Logic (basic PHP programming). I think I love programming, and have decided to go all the way with Web Technologies, but I hope to finish it quickly if I can get all the classes online. For instance, I plan to take four courses this fall semester, which would be twelve credit hours, and considered full-time. Keep in mind I'll also work full-time. Pray for me. If I continue to like programming, I may try for a bachelors degree. That's way down the road and after a couple of years of no school.

On the writing front, still nothing to report except for school assignments. I hope to change that soon too. Reading: I completed all that has been written in the House of Night series. See an interview the authors (P.C. Cast and Kristen Cast) did with Rachel Ray. Loved the books but they move through time pretty slow. I've read like 7 books to date, and it is still in month three in time. I'll most likely read my next book when the third book of The Hunger Games, MockingJay is released or when book 8 of the House of Night is released. Although, I may read the Mary Higgins Clark book I purchased before that time. Not sure yet because all my time is spent on my family and the two classes I'm taking now. I've also started a new side job for only one business right now, but it could turn into more. I format Microsoft Word documents to ready them for publication.

By the way, the MIS Specialist position(almost six months now)is still going well, and I'm loving it. That's all for me right now. I'd love to hear from you, so send me a comment. Avoid the heat wave--stay cool and kewl.

Sincerely,
Kim Cox
